Toolmaker / Die-setter 2nd & 3rd Shift

Position Overview

Transfer Tool is seeking experienced Toolmakers / Die-setters to join our skilled manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting, maintaining, and repairing progressive and transfer dies on our mechanical and hydraulic punch presses. This is an excellent opportunity to work with precision tooling in a deep drawn metal stamping facility. 2nd and 3rd shift positions are available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain progressive and transfer dies on mechanical and hydraulic punch presses
• Troubleshoot tooling and die problems during production runs
• Perform routine die maintenance, repair, and sharpening
• Read and interpret blueprints, die prints, and technical drawings
• Work closely with production and quality teams to reduce downtime
• Document tooling changes and maintenance activities
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Required Qualifications

• Experience setting dies on mechanical and/or hydraulic presses
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators)
• Journeyman Toolmaker certification or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience with deep drawn stamping processes
• Transfer die setup and troubleshooting experience
• Familiarity with press tonnage requirements and die protection systems
• Experience in a high-volume production stamping environment
• 3+ years of toolmaking or die-setting experience in a metal stamping or forming environment
